A new born baby is not exposed to the germs that adults have developed resistance to. Hence in the initial few months of their life they begin developing their immune system. A developing immune system will cause the child to become sick. A hygienic background is necessary to protect the baby from all sorts of diseases such as fever, cold etc. But no matter, how clean the environment is the baby develops some or the other kind of illness. Some of the common illness babies get as a part of adjusting with the environment are,

DIARRHOEA: It is frequently caused by some kind of viral infection or if the milk is not digested properly. Symptoms of diarrhea are liquid stool with vomiting and high fever. Care should be taken as diarrhea causes dehydration.

CONSTIPATION: Constipation occurs due to the sudden change in the diet. If the baby takes milk from a feeding bottle or starts eating little soft solid food, it takes time to adjust with the biological system of baby as a result stool will be infrequent. This problem is resolved by itself.

VOMITING: Usually we see that baby brings out small amount of milk after feeding. This is a common practice of all the babies and happens due to change they feel in the new environment. But if baby starts frequently vomiting and is accompanied by stains of blood, contact your doctor immediately. This might be the result of some dangerous bacteria or viruses.

FEVER AND COLDS: All new born babies get fever and cold and the main reason behind this is that their mother might have some kind of infection or the babies are exposed to various viruses and bacteria while they are being handled by their relatives. This can be treated by proper care and rest and in bad cases a little medicine.
