If you have ever seen the movie “Sleepless in Seattle,” you might understand where the main characters are coming from. After all, helping your children adjust to the new location, trying to find paying work, and doing all of this while looking for a decent place to live is a really good way to develop some deep, baggy bruises underneath your eyes. Simply put, you only have so many hours in your day, and trying to balance all of your responsibilities and get eight hours of sleep as well sounds like it should be filed away under mission: impossible.
The first thing you want to consider is where the best job opportunities for you may be. If you can lessen your commute to paying work, this will be a foundation that you can build on. The next thing to consider is what kinds of school options living in the “career zone” will provide for your child or children. If the jobs are great but the schools are horrible, you might want to look into tutors or private schools. You do want to give your kids the best you can, after all.
The biggest thing you need to consider when you are looking for apartments for rent in Seattle, however, is that you need to make your decision quickly. Take in all of the facts that you can, and then be decisive about it. After all, this is just an apartment. You do not need to be hemming and hawing over it endlessly, like you would when you buy a house. If all else fails, when your lease is up you can pack it all up and move all the way across town to some other place. Just make sure, once things settle down, that you get back into a good sleep schedule. Bags don’t look good on anybody.
